Ghosts - New Home

Dear Ruth,
I live in a brand new home. At night I hear noises that sound like moaning, usually in the kitchen, living room at night. right in front of me in my bedroom.

A year ago my parents, sister and I moved into a newly built home. I don't think there are ghosts, but a lot of times I wake up to noises in my bedroom that sound like what I think a ghost would sound like. Noises like someone walking, whistling, thumping. I get so scared I go into my parents room while they're sleeping and fall asleep on their bed.

What do you think? Are there ghosts in my home? Age 9.

Dear Age 9,

Ghosts can live anywhere, including new homes. Ghosts come for many reasons, could be a deceased relative who needs comfort, a person who died suddenly who is related to a neighbor or relative, or just someone who got lost.

Before you can assume you have a ghost you must check out mechanical problems that might cause whistling, sudden noises coming through your pipes, walls, etc.

The walking could be animals thumping on your roof or in your attic.

Good luck!
